Central Air Conditioner
Air Conditioner Central air conditioning typically consists of an indoor and outdoor unit that work together. This is called a split system. An air conditioner is the outdoor unit and it sends cooled air to the indoor unit (furnace or air handler) for circulation throughout the ductwork in your home.
Air conditioning efficiency is measured using a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) rating. We offer air conditioners which use modern R-410A refrigerant, and give our customers reliable and efficient performance!
Heat Pumps
Heat Pump A heat pump can keep a home comfortable all year long! In the summer a heat pump draws heat out of your home to cool it in the exact same way an air conditioner does (using refrigerant, evaporator coil, etc.). In the winter, a heat pump reverses the process and draws heat from the outside air to heat the air inside. Even when the air is cold, it still contains heat. Heat pumps are typically cheaper to run than a furnace when outside temperatures are 40° F and above. This varies depending on local utilities, etc. The efficiency of a heat pump is rated using SEER (for cooling efficiency) and HSPF (for heating efficiency).
Furnaces
Furnace A furnace is the indoor unit of a split system configuration. Furnaces come typically as gas, electric or oil powered and provide warm air in the winter. Furnace heating efficiency is measured with an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) percentage. A higher AFUE percentage indicates a more efficient furnace. Our gas furnaces are compact in design, and currently have some of the highest AFUE percentage ratings in the industry!
Evaporator Coils
Evaporator Coil The evaporator coil is a crucial part of any quality indoor comfort control system. An evaporator coil is a series of piping connected to your furnace or air handler. As air blows across it, the coil absorbs heat from the air. The cooled air is then delivered to the house by the furnace via ducting. The refrigerant then flows back to the compressor (a compressor controls the pressure applied to the refrigerant) where the cycle starts over again.
Air Handlers
Air Handlers / Fan Coils For cooling only or heat pump installations, a fan coil or air handler takes the place of a furnace. This unit in a basic sense is the variable speed fan from a furnace combined with an evaporator coil. Our fan coils can actually raise the efficiency rating of your air conditioner or heat pump meaning lower monthly utility bills for your home!
Thermostats and Controls
Thermostats & Controls Thermostats are the control system for your indoor comfort system. Thermostats can do anything from monitor temperature to providing information on what your equipment is doing, when it needs to be serviced, etc. Programmable thermostats allow you to specify comfort control levels for the entire week while dial-in remote access controls allow you to adjust your HVAC system simply with a phone call. Or wide variety of thermostats and controls provide you with all possible control options!
Packaged Systems
Packaged Systems In a packaged system, everything is built into an outdoor unit which is often located on the roof. This "package" can act as an air conditioner, heat pump or contain both and air conditioner and gas furnace. Our packaged system products offer the performance, reliability and efficiency our customers deserve!
